About the Author
Maggie Sefton was born and raised in Virginia, where she received her bachelor’s degree in English literature and journalism. Maggie has worked in several careers over the years, from a CPA to a real estate broker in the Rocky Mountain West. However, none of those endeavors could compare with the satisfaction and challenge of creating worlds on paper. She is the mother of four grown daughters, currently scattered around the globe. Author of the nationally bestselling Knitting Mysteries, she resides in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado with two very demanding dogs.

A great yarn

Unraveled is the ninth book in the Knitting Mystery series and a very delightful read.
Kelly's friends at Lambspun are walking on egg shells around around her after the recent breakup of her and Steve. So Jennifer, a real estate agent, invites Kelly to ride to the canyon with her to inspect some property she has under contract. As they turn onto the drive of the property, the owners wife passes them. Upon entering the house Kelly and Jennifer find the owner shot in the head with a WW II gun lying nearby. The deceased man has had a history of bad real estate dealings. The deceased was in the middle of a heated divorce, one of Keely's clients has also had run-ins with him. So it is time for Kelly "Sherlock" Flynn and her friend Burt Parker put their heads together To find the killer. In Kelly's "real job" as an accountant she needs to visit various contractor meetings and dinners. After one of these Kelly is invited to a volley ball game where she crosses paths with Steve. This is one of the funniest scenes that I have read in a long time. Kelly has a bunch of zany friends and they also provided much enjoyment in this book. I always look forward to the next book in Maggie Sefton's knitting series. As always there is a recipes and knitting pattern included.

Sefton Effortlessly Builds to a Crescendo!

Unraveled starts off a bit slowly, but effortlessly builds to a crescendo that leaves you feverishly flipping the pages. Sefton knows how to weave an engaging tale and follow through with the pattern she started out with and that is what made me say, " What took you so long to discover this series, you fool!" I mean, seriously, am I living in a cave? - Please, don't answer that and thank you for refraining, although, you were highly tempted. I found myself shaking my head as I delved further into the deftly scripted mystery. I put the book aside long enough to make a mental notation and mumble, "You have got to read this series from the beginning, tootsie, because it is a keeper!"
Sefton writes like she was born with a pen in one hand and a notepad in the other. She definitely knows how to tell a tale or two around the ole campfire. Sefton's spirited characters are authentic and the Colorado backdrop is strikingly resplendent in the spring.

The title provides the perfect definition for Kelly's personal life. We're finally seeing a world beyond "House of Lambspun" and characters becoming more dimensional. Jennifer, Pete, and even Jayleen have some background. Maybe Greg should be next. Steve acted like a big jerk, but at least he acknowledges this. I feel like my loyalty to this series is finally justified!
