Nice and Suspenseful

Okay, lets start with the cover on this one - can anyone say WOW! If I walked by this on the shelf I don't think that I could resist picking it out. Okay, now that is out of my system on to the stories in this anthology.
Soul Possession by Maya Banks
This is the first I have read of Maya Banks and she sure did deliver. I enjoyed the mix of a real story in with hot and steamy that is the sex in this book! I will say that I have not read of erotica but this has to be the way to do it. It was very vivid and descriptive but not in an offensive way. Just eye opening that made me want to read more! The story behind this one was very well done as well with a serial killer that Rich and Truitt are trying to hunt down and the barmaid, Jessie, they have been trying to get into bed for weeks happens to lose her job and end up in bed with both of them since neither wants to allow the other to have her. All in all, it was just really well done and HOT! I will say that it left me wanting more and that is probably due to the length of the story.

I felt like this was a much quicker read with less detail but that was almost a good thing because I was content with the story and I was not left begging for more. Like with the first story there was a lot of hot scenes but they were still done in a manner that while expressing the heat in detail did not cross any lines. There was a well developed story line and great character development for the length of the story.
Taking the Heat by Sylvia Day
This was a great way to round out the anthology. My favorite part of the actually story line in this book is that the two main characters had history and while neither thought the other remembered they both did. There is a lot of tension and stress that is placed on them since they are basically trying to run and get Layla to testify and then she will end up back in Witness Protection. Along the way, the strong connection between them continues to grow. There is a great sexual tension building up to the actual act something that is often difficult to express in writing. It was well done.

Three sizzling novellas are presented in "Men Out of Uniform: Three Novellas of Erotic Surrender", penned by three fabulous authors in the field, Maya Banks (`Soul Possession'), Karin Tabke (`Wanted') and Sylvia Day (`Taking the Heat'). Each author uses her considerable talent to create a sensual tale featuring hot heroes and the women in their lives that they would go to great lengths to cherish and protect.
`Soul Possession' features Banks' erotic menage scenes that combine two detectives, Rick Broughman & Truitt Cavanaugh and waitress Jessie Callahan whom they have been trying to coax into their bed for weeks. Neither is willing to cede the field to the other and Jessie is a little overwhelmed by the idea that both potent males want to share her. A series of life-altering events catapult her into their arms and almost immediately threatens their relationship as they struggle to balance their undeniable physical attraction to each other with the restrictions imposed by the detectives' profession. A serious threat to Jessie's freedom and life makes them evaluate what they truly mean to each other in and out of the bedroom.
Undercover cop Colin Daniels discovers that a not-so-routine witness escort mission for the Federal Investigative Strike Team has reunited him with a woman from his distant past but there is a leak in his unit that endangers her life. Sophia Gilletti is prepared to destroy her evil husband's empire but his ruthless attempts to destroy her and maim or murder anyone who has helped her convince her that she needs to refuse the assistance of the man who once introduced her to the joys of lovemaking then broke her heart. Their searing attraction for one another is complicated by their past behavior as well as the life-threatening actions of her ruthless husband.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Brian Simmons is trying to protect Layla Creed, the love of his life who ended up in the Witness Protection Program after a series of events that occurred after their painful breakup. She was never able to accept his drive to put himself in harm's way, particularly after he joined the specialized Shadow Stalkers division of the Marshal Service. Their dangerous cross-country trip to allow her to provide key testimony rekindles their relationship but it is likely that they may not achieve success in either if the traitor in his department has his way.
A great trio of scorching and suspenseful reads by three very talented authors. Each deftly demonstrates her facility for penning very hot scenes and telling a coherent and thrilling tale. There are a few minor hiccups necessarily imparted by the limitations of confining the tales to novellas but any of the stories could ideally be expanded to longer versions.

3 Quick fixes that leave you WANTON more!

Hot-Quick-leave you feeling wanton...Sylvia Day and Maya Banks teamed up with an unknown Author, Karin Tabke to give us some quick fixes while we wait out appointments or flight calls. Day and Banks are two of my favorite Authors, and so I was confident that this would be just what I needed for a quickie read. The male's are in some form of law enforcement and with some military past, the woman are strong and fierce too! There is some mild erotic intimacy here, so if that is not your thing, you may want to pass on this purchase. Definitely not for the tween or teen romance readers this is an adult only read.
