Loved the Book

I have now read all three Fashionista mysteries. The campy humor had me laughing out loud more than once. I am hardly a fashionista...but the descriptions of the clothes were fun. Rita Jewel's character is consistently....well, a bit shallow and oh so fun. Witty writing. I really enjoyed the books. I look forward to another. I was entertained, the whole goal for me.

It's not fashionable to be murdered

Murder After A Fashion is the third book in this series that I'm absolutely hooked on! I hope there are many more about the fashionista Rita. I love reading about San Francisco and about clothes. Rita has great taste. I can't wait to read about what she's going to wear next. I can just picture her in San Francisco, riding the cable car, or eating her way through every party, even funerals. And she even solves the mystery too! How does she do it without a tear or a wrinkle in her designer rags?
Grace Carroll is also Carol Grace and Carol Culver. Same great humor!!

A Protagonist So Stupid that You Want to Shake Her

I read the first book in this series and found the writing uneven and the heroine silky, but liked the general premise and thought perhaps the author would improve. Unfortunately not. Lots of fashion advice, and absolutely no brains. She has taken one class with a chef, wants to take another so she shows up at his cooking school with no notice. He tells her class is over and she should register online. The next day she finds out he was killed after she left. On that slim straw,the author tries to weave a rationale for involvement in the case. She bumbles around,annoying the detective on the case and quite by accident, finally locates the culprit. In between, you get to hear about her shallow and vapid life which is entirely insight free. The only thing good about this book is he attractive cover.
