From Booklist
Clare Cosi is busy with offsite holiday cookie functions while keeping her coffee shop running. After holiday helper Moirin goes missing from one party, Clare finds the woman’s dead body outside, near a carousel. Police see the crime as the latest in a series of holiday attacks (the “Christmas Stalkings”) and suspect one of Clare’s employees of being the guilty party. Clare responds by delving deeper into Moirin’s background, convinced that this murder of the young immigrant with musical aspirations is different. Clare’s boyfriend, Mike Quinn, commuting from D.C. on weekends, lends some advice while the couple struggles to keep their relationship going. Nearly every scene lends clues, and Coyle (pseudonym for a husband-wife writing team) ties up the pieces in clever style. Readers may get distracted a bit from the many-tentacled plot by the food and drink references and the delicious-sounding recipes. Fans of Julie Hyzy’s White House Chef series will enjoy the action and energy of the Coyle novels. --Amy Alessio

Mix Your Foodie Tendencies with a Cozy Mystery
By Nancy
Usually, when I read a book from the Coffee House Mysteries series, I cannot get enough coffee. As I said before, I swear they are in cahoots with my favorite independent café, but this time, I am lusting over the cookies at my local bakery.

I guess I should be glad that the writing team of Cleo Coyle changed it up, but let's face it, there are more calories in cookies than in coffee so I cannot win either way.

The busy little baristas from the Village Blend, complete with holiday hats, are knee deep in the Great New York Cookie Swap when Clare notices that one of her crew has wandered off; taking a cold winters night stroll she discover the body of Moirin Faigan dead on the carousel. What ensues brings out both the best and the worst in people.

The NYPD are quick to point their fingers at a serial assaulter referred to as "The Christmas Stalker", but Claire thinks there is more to it. When a second body appears and there is an attempt on Claire's life people begin working double time to solve this. Unfortunately, she runs into a major nemesis, Detective Fletcher Endicott A.K.A Mr. DNA, that is too busy trying to write another book than to take Claire seriously. Add in two "Real Housewives", an ex-rocker turned retirement home entertainer, a detective boyfriend only available on alternate weekends, a narcissistic hockey player and soon you will have a fun filled winter cozy full of wild antics that Lucy and Ethyl should be starring in.

If you love mixing your foodie tendencies with cozy mysteries, this is a perfect series. Just be forewarned that you will spend an inordinate amount of time drinking coffee and lusting over baked goods and mile high roast beef sandwiches.

Disappointing
By Catholic Pilgrim
I am a big Cleo Coyle fan -- own all of the books in the series either in the print or Kindle version. Therefore I have to ask -- who wrote THIS book? It doesn't have the charm of earlier books. The characters don't act like themselves. The dialogue is choppy. The plot seems contrived rather than unfolding lyrically as in previous books. Usually, when I pick up a new book in this series, I can't put it down. This time, I'm having a hard time finishing it.

Latte Trouble
By Barbara Hightower
What could be better being over the beverage service at the New York Cookie Swap? Clare trying to solve two murders before she will be next. Holiday Buzz like the others in the series, has a lot of humorous situations to keep the reader laughing. We also have several leads to keep us on track for the mystery as well. With both you are in for a treat of a read.

As we have the Cookie swap going on, we have Clare fitting herself in a dumbwaiter pulling herself up to the kitchen of a baker whom she thinks is the serial killer. If that is not funny enough, we have Madame going undercover at the Evergreen Recreation Center. As soon as I started reading about the set up I started laughing out loud as to what to expect. We all know the scene was bound to be good.

Along with the usual characters we are introduced to some new ones as well that I hope to see again. It was nice to see some of the "old" characters and learn a bit more about them as the series moves along. I am very fond of this series as the Cleo and her husband always have the right amount of suspense and romance intertwined for Clare. I look forward to each new release to see what Clare will find herself involved in.
